Whole nutmeg
It is primarily used as a seasoning to stimulate the appetite and promote healthy digestion. Both nutmeg and mace have their place in both savory and sweet dishes. Its flavor is unmistakable and, therefore, irreplaceable. Nutmeg is an integral part of gingerbread; it can be used to garnish cappuccinos, and in small amounts, it adds a special touch to strudel and other desserts. Creamy soups, such as cauliflower or pumpkin soup, cannot do without it; it should not be missing from spinach dishes, nor from meat dishes and smoked meats.
