Whole Star Anise

It has a delicate aroma similar to anise and a spicy, slightly sweet flavor. It contains up to 5% of the highly prized essential oil anethole. In our country, it is used in the food industry as well as in liqueur production. In traditional Czech cuisine, it is used in gingerbread, special cookies, plum jam, pear compote, and to flavor teas and grog.
